"Manufactured by a company called Harkavy Beverage Company, which was one of the leading soda distributors in Northern Manhattan and the Bronx, NY. My grandfather worked at Harkavy from the early 1900s through about 1950. The plant was located in the Bronx. The Doc's root beer brand (and the formula) was eventually bought by the company that makes Dad's, and the name was changed to Dad's" - contributed by Lilien
