Swift Current Bottling Works Ltd.

4th east and Railway

Swift Current, SK    Canada

Contributed by Jon Onufrock
From SwiftCurrent Online:
Swift Current Bottling Works was established in 1913 by Fred Gould, originally located on First Avenue West, later moving to 401 Railway East. Swift Current Bottling Works bottled a fantastic selection of soft drinks -- strawberry, cherry, raspberry, sour lemon, chocolate, birch beer, Iron Bru, Hires Root Beer, Orange Crush, Whistle, and Coca Cola. In 1939, Robert C Dahl purchased the operation, and Coca Cola was its mainstay. In 1946, a special bottle was designed and all the soft drinks -- except Coca Cola -- were distributed in the new bottle. The introduction of aluminum cans forced the end of production at the plant in 1988, which continued to operate as a distributor.
