I'd like other peoples' opinions on different extracts they have used. I'll add my two cents (two extracts?) right now:

I started out with the hoptech "variety pack" that has extracts #1, #2, and #3. So far, I've used hoptech #1 and hoptech #2

I first tried the hoptech #2 extract. It's a very mild and creamy-flavored root beer. It remained somewhat yeasty-flavored, probably because the flavor was too mild to cover up any yeastiness.

Then I tried hoptech #1. It's a much MUCH stronger concoction that had a very strong aftertase of licorice. After a couple of extra weeks of sitting, the flavors really seemed to combine a lot better and the aftertaste went away, however, the flavor was still strong enough to cover up any yeasty flavors that may have lingered from the fermentation.

I have four bottles of hoptech #1 left and then I'll give #3 a shot.
