I had to take a trip to Silicon Valley this week for work and I took the opportunity to stop at Beverages and More. When did it change it's name to BevMo?

It was a good time to pick up some root beer. Oh goodness, there was so much there! I specifically looked for recipes that used cane sugar or real sugar. No high fructose corn syrup for this boy! I was surprised to see so many recipes that added caffeine. I thought one of root beer's joys was that there wasn't suppose to be any caffeine.

Anyways, I still walked out with probably 20 different kinds of root beer. I got two bottles of each. Hanks Root Beer came in a 4 pack and I only got one bottle of Sparky's. Sparky's comes in a 22 oz glass bottle! Holy cow!

Oh, yes, I did look specifically for root beer in glass bottles only. There is some more pure and romantic about soda in a glass bottle than something in a can.

I was tempted to pick up some creme soda too but I felt that I was stocking up on enough root beer. Even the check-out gal was surprised to see so much root beer being purchased at once. I told her that I came from a small town.

That sounds like a fun outing. I am surprised to hear about the caffeine, I am only aware of a few brands that use it.
