I recently had some VERY strong tasting root beer brewed at a restaurant in Boise, Idaho, and I really liked it. i was wondering if anyone knew how to brew a batch of strong root beer. I would really like to know because I need to make other kinds of Root Beer besides the sweeter tasting kinds.

Thanks,

well, you can really do a variety of things. I think the first thing to figure out is what level of involvement you are interested in. From there you can decide what you are willing to do to get to this taste.
A pretty simple route would be to get some root beer extract, and mix up a batch of that, changing the concentration of extract in your batch, making it stronger.
Or, still using the extract, get your boil going, and add some ingredient to your boil that you really liked in the root beer you had. Maybe it had a really awesome vanilla taste to it, so add some vanilla bean/extract/syrup to your boil.

You can go a long way down the rabbit tunnel, but since enjoying great root beer is the goal, only go as far as your enjoyment is going to go.
Hope this helps.

edit:
just thought of this, you can also find out who makes it, and sometimes folks get so exited that someone is interested, they'll tell you some of the highlights of what you are tasting.
