I was wondering if anyone has tried kegging their root-beer to force carbonation, tapping the keg and then dispensing it into bottles and capping them? I wasn't sure if the carbonation would be lost during the transfer process or what would happen. If anybody has tried this or knows if this would be a viable option to bypass the fermentation process, please let me know.

there is a device you can buy that is made specifically for this. I think if you just tried to do it by itself you would lose most or all your carbonation, but if you do a search for "beergun" or go to www.northernbrewer.com that should get you there.
